Most people use cosmetic products on a daily basis, whether it is an aftershave for men or a face cream for women, or simply classic products like make-up or a foundation.
But do you really know what ingredients are in these products that you use every day and that your body absorbs every day? Conventional cosmetic products often contain substances that can cause problems. These include silicones, parabens, microplastics and fragrances, to name just a few. None of these substances are acutely life-threatening, but in the long term the environment and people can suffer from them. None of these problematic ingredients are found in natural cosmetics, but let's take a closer look. 1. It's better for health There is a myriad of different body care and cosmetic products. From shower gels and shampoos to creams and lotions, deodorants and make-up. Most people who maintain at least a normal level of personal care use many different products every day - and all of these products may contain ingredients that are problematic for health and can even enter the bloodstream through the skin. Classic examples of these problematic ingredients are PEGs, mineral oils and parabens. They are suspected of being carcinogenic. Since natural cosmetics do not contain these substances, you do not expose yourself to this risk when using products with the natural cosmetics seal. 2. It's better for the environment Perhaps you have already heard about it in the media: Microplastics is becoming an ever greater problem because these tiny plastic particles penetrate everywhere due to their small size. In the meantime, microplastics have also been detected in groundwater or various animal products such as milk or honey. Microplastic is found in many peelings or dental care products, but also in glitter. The big problem is that sewage treatment plants cannot effectively filter out these small plastic particles. So they end up in natural waters, in other words, in the environment. This is not only bad for animals and plants, because the microplastic that has been released into nature in this way is finally found on our plates - e.g. as an undesirable ingredient of a fish dish. (Fish often confuse the microplastic particles with food). The use of microplastics is prohibited in natural cosmetics. So you are not only doing nature a favor, but also your long-term health. 3. It's good for your skin and hair Perhaps you have already made the experience that natural cosmetic cleansing products (shower gel or shampoo) foam less. Many people then feel less clean, which is why they switch back to conventional products. But there is a reason for this. Conventional products contain many foaming chemical ingredients. These make for a great foam, but not much else. In fact, natural cosmetic products are often gentler on skin and hair precisely because of the absence of these substances. What foams a lot, usually dries out a lot. The fine foam washes away even the last bit of the protective fat layer of our skin, which can be irritating in the long run. Conclusion Natural cosmetics are good for the environment and your own health. Because the market has grown so strongly worldwide in recent years, there is now a wide selection of products in all price categories and for all skin types. In addition, the consistency, appearance and application of natural cosmetics today are becoming more and more similar to conventional cosmetics, but without the negative consequences already mentioned. It is only important that you find out exactly whether a brand is actually natural cosmetics or not. At Ameno Passion we do this work for you. In our store you will only find brands and products that either have a natural cosmetics certificate or those that meet the requirements but for various reasons do not yet have a certificate. (For example, many small brands simply cannot yet afford the often expensive certificates). Natural cosmetics are not included in our store.
